The renown Boxing Day Enduro hosted by Witley MCC at Slab Common nr Bordon in Hampshire had an entry of over 200 riders, course was kept shorter than usual to avoid course cutting and avoid waterlogged areas prone to creating bogs from hell and keep the traffic moving.

Championship Class
Jon Hunt took the early lead but a nasty off ended his day which left Daryl Bolter to take charge and forge a big lead until the master himself got stuck in one of the bogs which gave the lead to Dan Alldred but it wasn’t long before Bolter got back into his stride and took the lead again and took total control until the finish and completed 1 more lap than any other competitor in the class. Dan Alldred held 2nd place from Ben Wibberley who did all he could to catch the leaders.

Expert Class
Having not ridden competitively since 2008 Russell Jarman put in an amazing display of skill, stamina and sheer bloody mindedness to take the class win. With Ryan Grover a very hard earned runners up spot. 3rd went to Josh Kirby who had an amazing race with his Dad Mark and beat him for the very first time, 4th place went to Mark Kirby.

Veteran Classes
Veteran A class was a 2 man battle between Jack Twentyman and Darren Lee with Jack’s experience coming into play towards the closing stages and Darren’s lack of racing recently due to injury hampered him a little bit in the closing stages, which gave Darren 2nd place over Jack’s 1st. Another rider who hasn’t ridden much this year took third in the guise of Chris Stanger.

Veteran B Class

Veteran B class was dominated by 3 riders and it looked like last years winner Michael Toussaint was going to take victory but a late surge from Chris Welch put the dampers on that and Chris took the win from Michael with Martin Baker in 3rd. The top 3 riders were the only ones to complete 12 laps in this class.

Clubman A Classe
Was won by Miles Carruthers and on a trials bike which is a testament to his ability, strength and endurance field and very much the worthy winner of this class. Runner up Lee Boulden which is another positive to his successful season. Family affair for 3rd and 4th were Brett and Jamie Wilkinson battling, with Jamie getting the 3rd spot.

Clubman B Class
Was very much a battle between Will Ansell and Tristan Bushnell with Will just being that much more consistent over the 3 hours to take the win, but both completed 13 laps each, Jake Snaith was 3rd place with 12 laps.

EVO and Sportsman Classes
Evo class with a very impressive 12 laps for the winner for Rob Wilkinson on his Maico. Runner up with 10 laps was Colin Fox on his Kawasaki 200 and 3rd place with 6 laps went to Larry Sills on his Honda 250.

Sportsman Class, 3rd place with 10 laps went to Jonathan Bird, runner up and newcomer to enduro was the teenager Ryan Turner with 11 laps, and the top podium of this class went to Peter Robson with 11 laps also.
