ISDE Sardinia LogoAll systems go !

The squad of 6 riders making up 2 Witley Teams : Rob Carey, Arnaud Didey & Neil Bowker in one team with Aaron Smith, Dan Alldred in the other, they have beaten competitors through the ACU selection process to win places in Team GB at the 2013 ISDE, held under the jurisdiction of the Italian FIM on the island of Sardinia.

The Italian organisers had made 8 Club team places to the ACU and there had been 11 teams competing for these places – the Witley teams gained the ACU seal of approval to ride alongside the teams of : The Army, Wales (A), Isle of Man (A), Scottish ACU, St Georges & Wales (B).The 3 unsuccessful club teams were Isle of Man (B), Rydale and Northampton MCC.

So we have made it to the start-line of the ISDE build-up process. The riders and support crew are now planning and booking transportation to the venue and accommodation. Fund raising is rolling into action – difficulty in finding land has delayed the start of any motorcycle event fund raisers though a practice day at Woodbury Lane, Rowland’s Castle, Hants is on the cards for 2nd June – Keep your eyes open for further details on the Witley Website ! Social events have beaten the motorcycles to it and the intimidating pairing of Jo Ayshford and Becky Brockman are selling tickets for a Barbeque, Summer Ball and Quiz evening to raise funds to provide sustenance for the Witley ISDE entourage; the support crew (without whom the riders could not compete) and riders alike.

The riders are developing their skills and staying power during the home and continental endure season. This can take its toll so the riders need to develop the maturity to balance daring, aggression, ambition and aspirations against the necessary levels of caution, restraint, and prudence to survive. As is previously stated we are just pulling away from the start line of the build-up process – we all need to make it to the start line of the ISDE on 30th September in one piece, on top form and then to the finish line on October 5th .

We have started – we MUST finish, We can do more than finish – we have the strength and the hunger to be winners.
