VERY IMPORTANT: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Thursday 26th March 2009 @ 8.30pm

Yes, it’s that time of year again. The date for your AGM has been booked at a new venue. The new British Legion Hall at Compton (overlooking the green) will be the location for this year’s AGM. It is also going to be our new Club Night location, following the introduction of the noisy and crowded darts nights at the Aggy Club.

Many of you will be aware that this year we need you there more than ever.

After many years of hard work, Jo Ayshford is standing down as Club Secretary to follow her career in amateur dramatics (well, stage manager rather than acting, she leaves that to Gordon). This job entails the production of the committee agenda each month, dealing with club correspondence and liaising with various bodies connected to the sport. Jo will give help to whoever feels like taking this job on as she will still be an active club member.
The second position to become vacant is that of Club Treasurer. Alison Lock has done this job very well over the past years but is now moving on to other things away from the club. It is hoped that by the time the AGM is with us, we will have purchased a club laptop with a Sage program installed and the year finances started.

Sage is a very easy program to use. It will be set up with each of our main events listed and then it is just a case of entering the outgoings and income against each event or function. The computer program does the rest. As easy as that!

In addition there will be cheques to pay in and to write and a petty cash account to look after. Training will be given. As is the case at AGM’s, all officials stand down but are up for re-election if you want them.
Please consider these posts and let me (Bernard) know if you need more information.

Awards evening at Bisley Shooting Lodge on the 14th March. Last year at this venue, a great number of club members enjoyed a typical Witley Club ‘do’. If you are in line for a Club or event award, then please be there to collect it and receive the cheers and adulation from your fellow members.

Jo Ayshford and Julie Batt are the organisers and ticket sellers. Other dates for your diary are the Three Stage Trial on the 3rd May; a possible Club stand at the Kempton Park Southern Classic Show on the 9th May; and the Camping Weekend on the 17th – 19th July.

See you at the AGM!!
