The Witley Photographic Challenge for the Dick Hysom Trophy: Sunday 19th September

Open to any method of transport, but the Dick Hysom Rose Bowl will be awarded to the best bike score. There will be suitable awards for other classes.

The aim will be to meet at the club room between 9.00 and 10.00 am to collect your clues and view the maps. No one must leave before 10.00 am.

You will need a digital camera to get as many of the 20 locations as you can. Each location will carry a number of points. The more difficult to get to, and the further away, will be worth more points than the local views. The entry fee will be £5 per camera to go towards refreshments and awards.

You have all day, so pick a lunch spot somewhere.The deadline for finishing will be 6.00pm at the Duke of Normandy pub on the Guildford Road, Normandy. Hopefully some refreshments will be available. The winner will be announced the same evening. Be there for a spot of fun....Bernard J

Sunday dawned very bright – too bright, for as we met up at Compton the clouds came over to darken the day but not the Witley Spirit!

Bernard mark 2 (not Jay) was already at the club. Didn't have to wait long and Dave Kav was on the scene. Paul Jay and Steve arrived, then a most peculiar sound; in swept Witley’s own Steve McQueen, Barry on the Ariel complete with his own photographer (disguised as Becky). All went well to the stop.

After which, a couple of times round the roundabout – this bought a few comments, which way on the M27? We then lost Dave Kav who was kindly waiting for Bernard, but eventually we all arrived at Bashley Cross – Sammy Miller’s. Just putting the bikes on the stands as Derek and Betty Prior appeared.
